RULES FOR ALL FRANKFORT and ELBERTA
ART and CRAFT FAIRS
- All applications must be accompanied by 3 slides or photos of your work and 1
slide or photo of your outdoor display. Applications will not be reviewed without
a slide or photo of the applicant's outdoor display. This slide or photo should provide
a full view of applicant's display and show work clearly. Applicants in the jewelry
category must also submit three slides or photos showing work in progress.
(Note: Slides are much preferred, but photographs, or print-outs of digital photos
on photo paper, will be also accepted. Photographs or print-outs must be a minimum
of 5" x 7" and 8" x 10" are preferred. If you want the photos
returned, you must include a self-addressed stamped envelope of sufficient size to
return the photos.)
- All work must be original, hand-crafted, and created by the artists themselves.
Kits, imports and mass-produced items will not be tolerated. This rule is strictly
enforced. The jury may request a slide/picture showing applicant’s work in progress.
- All categories shall be reviewed, juried, and screened prior to acceptance. Any
media NOT approved during the application process shall be removed. Separate photos/slides
for each category of media to be displayed must be submitted. Exhibitors must display
and sell only work analogous to submitted photos/slides.
- The approved exhibitor will occupy his or her booth at all times. No subletting
or sharing of space is permitted. NO REPRESENTATIVES ARE ALLOWED.
- Each exhibitor is responsible for collecting the state Sales Tax and filing a
report with the Department of Revenue. Where applicable, a tax I.D. number may be
required.
- An accepted application is a commitment by the exhibitor to display his/her work
during ALL scheduled hours of the fair. DO NOT BREAK DOWN EARLY! Exhibitors who breakdown
early may be excluded from future Chamber events.
- No refunds are issued for cancellations after the first of May.
- Payment in full is due with the application. If applying for more than one fair,
please send separate checks for each fair.
- Artists must provide their own displays; these displays must be sturdy enough
to withstand weather and crowds, minimizing any potential for injury. Each artist
is responsible for his/her own display in case of loss or damage.
- After the fair, exhibitors will leave their exhibit space clean and trash disposed
of in the dumpster.
- Exhibitors will confine their display to their assigned booth space (each space
being 12’ x 12’). We have gone to considerable effort to allow for the maximum number
of booths in an easy-to-follow configuration, and to allow for proper and safe aisle
space. Expect to be asked to move if you are in anyway outside your marked space.
- The exhibitor’s space must be occupied by 8:30 a.m. the morning of the show,
or the exhibitor will be considered a “no show” and his/her space may be reassigned,
and no refund will be given in this circumstance. Absolutely no exhibitor vehicles
will be allowed in the park after 8:00 a.m.
- Set-up and breakdown times will be strictly enforced. Breakdown will not begin
until the end of the show (5:00 PM). Vehicles will not be permitted into the park
until after 5:30 PM. The show director has the final decision on when vehicles are
allowed into the park after the fair.
- For the Frankfort August Art Fair, Friday night sales are optional and in no
way affect your booth placement for the fair on Saturday.
- Overnighters will observe RV etiquette at all times. Absolutely no trash is to
be left behind. Failure to comply with RV etiquette will cause immediate removal
from the fair.
- Due to liability issues, exhibitors are not allowed to bring pets or any animal
to the fair site. Overnighters should clean up after their pets.
- If you have a problem at the fair, please contact the fair staff immediately.
We are here to ensure a safe and profitable event for all concerned.
- All rules will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply with the rules or unruly
behavior (including intoxication or verbal abuse) by the exhibitor or any assistants
will cause immediate expulsion from the fair and eliminate exhibitor from future
Frankfort-Elberta Chamber and/or Elberta Parks and Recreation Commission sponsored
events. Management reserves the right to make the final interpretation of all rules.
